‘The spotted owlet is a small owl which breeds in tropical Asia from mainland India to Southeast Asia.

‘They are a common resident of open habitats and have adapted to living in cities. They roost in small groups in the hollows of trees or in cavities in rocks or building and nests in a hole in a tree or building, laying eggs.’

‘It’s rare for them to hang upside down and it was a very unique moment – I had waited for two hours in the same spot to make sure I wouldn’t frighten him.’
